Our hair salon in Moorooka is proud to give you the experience you deserve. Harlequin Hair is an eclectic family salon, that is honored to be the Most experienced dedicated curly hair salon in Moorooka.
Our online shop shows all the products we use in salon and can purchase either online or in salon. We help you to embrace your natural curls so unfortunately we don't do any straightening, braiding, extensions, wigs, smoothing or perming
We use and stock a large range of Curly Girl Approved & Friendly products. We also take part in training programs which keep us up to date in all aspects of hairdressing and curly hair.
We are a hair salon who love to and specialise in colour & embrace curls via the curly girl method and other methods and be creative. From the moment, you walk in to the salon you will feel relaxed, comfortable and confident in your stylist’s experience.

We understand that not one type of method fits all. This is why we are open to all types of methods for curly hair and not just the Curly Girl Method, we have researched the Ouidad Method plus the traditional method of looking after curls and we are open to Your Method.
Steve: Started his Hairdressing career in the year 2001 in Ipswich. Steve opened Shear Image in 2007 (with a business partner). In 2019 we rebranded to Harlequin Hair!
Since 2002 Steve has used L’Oreal Professionnel and is the most experienced L’Oreal Professionnel stylist in Moorooka (as we still use some L'Oreal Pro)

In 2013 Steve then completed and graduated in L’Oreal Professionnel’s Colour Degree. (Colour Degree sets the standard for colourists that really take colouring hair to perfection seriously. Participants will gain an understanding of hair colouring second to none. You will learn how to grow your salon’s colour business and become a legendary colourist in your own right. The course begins with a 5 day intensive block which is then followed with 3 further days for portfolio submissions and assessment. The course delivers advanced technical knowledge along with inspiration and practical sessions to be delivered as the pinnacle of L'Oréal Professionnel's Education offering).
Approx in 2017 Steve started learning, practising and researching in the Curly Girl Method. Since then Steve continues to learn and educate himself in all aspects of hairdressing, focusing mostly on Curly Hair & Colouring. Steve’s main curly cutting is curl by curl. Steve was trained by Tanya after Tanya was trained by Purely Curls.
2021: Steve completed online training through L'Oreal Professionnel UK for care, cutting and styling of all curl types.
Tanya: Tanya has been hairdressing for at-least, the past 11 yrs on and off. During the times away were due to raising her three now adult children and to help her parents with their business. Tanya specialises in curly hair.
Tanya completed as of the 1st July 2020, a curly hair cutting and care course through Purely Curls & Curly Hair Education Australia (the Queen & King of Curly Hair in Qld) which consist of:
Tanya’s main cutting techniques is by Deva Curl/Purely Curls cutting techniques and editing/curl by curl.
Tanya has naturally wavy hair (2B/2C) type curls.
