What is the back story of Freddie knows?

Freddie Knows began 3 and a half years ago in New Zealand where Tamara (founder) had a curly hair salon based in a renovated caravan on an orchard. It was in a relatively small town but being a curl specialist saw a huge increase in demand and client retention - she also at this time proceeded to move into the education space creating courses and books for hairdressers looking to expand their expertise into curly hair.

Around the same time conversations were had with contacts around the formulation and manufacture of Haircare products. After about a year of research and testing, selling everything and moving from NZ to Townsville - formulations were built around a stringent guideline to create a curly hair range.

We launched in May 2023 to positive feedback and have been scaling since through our education/training and partnering with salons through Australia and NZ. It’s been challenging, but it’s also been great fun!
